Samsung S24 Ultra may share Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro upgrade

A new rumor suggests the Samsung S24 Ultra may have a titanium frame, something that’s also rumored to come with Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max.

Tech’s silly season really is upon us, with Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2023 now in the rear-view mirror and the iPhone 15 release date right around the corner, rumors are stirring about what’s next for Samsung’s flagship device, the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

As covered by Phone Arena, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is rumored to have a titanium frame, moving away from its predecessor’s aluminum one. Samsung leaker Ice Universe shared a clue on Twitter, and it wasn’t too hard for folks to decipher. With a photo of the periodic table and the caption saying only ‘22’, this leads to the element titanium.

One user, Alvin, asked, “Related to the S24 Ultra? Titanium frame?”, to which Ice Universe replied with a blushing smiley face. Now, I’m no Sherlock, but I think this might mean that yes, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra will feature a titanium frame. The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max phones are also rumored to feature this upgrade to the stronger material, though it does come with one downside: price.

Current rumors suggest that the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max could see a $200 price bump versus their predecessors, caused in no small part by the material switch. Of course, rumor is rumor, so take it all with a pinch of salt, especially given how far away we are from an S24 Ultra release.
